Read MoreIf you had a choice, would you want an expert on the content of a course, or an expert teacher? Expertise is worth nothing if it cannot be communicated. This week I have dropped out of 2 online courses (from another company) because, while the instructor was an expert in the subject, they could not teach worth crap. Obviously never belonged to Toastmasters, or took a speaking course, maybe not even a teaching course. But, they knew their subject. Laura Rogers is an expert on her subject, and she is an excellent teacher. She was prepared, she was confident, she was organized, she was articulate, and I don't think I heard a single "ah" or "umm". Most of this course I already knew, but I learned more. I am looking forward to the Advanced course.

Read MoreI took MVP Laura Rogers' Basics of Power Automate course in early 2024. I thought it provided an excellent foundation in the value proposition of Power Automate, particularly as applied to workflows in SharePoint. The course had clearly been designed with care and showed up-to-date user interface elements in Power Automate, SharePoint, and Lists. Given the break-neck speed with which Microsoft updates its UI, this was extremely impressive! I actually hesitated in going through the basics training as I've been using Power Automate for a while now, but I was pleasantly surprised at what an excellent job this course did in highlighting the fundamentals, and in particular, the value proposition of using workflow automation vs. manual processes. I was unaware of the features that Microsoft provides in some of its out-of-the-box list templates, and learning about these was quite a treat. In addition, there was one activity which involved a follow-along example of how to implement an automation solution that required me to click and type. Very unique and cool! In conclusion, I heartily recommend this course for someone starting out in Power Automate, or even for someone who's used it before and wants to learn some tips from a master. Kudos, Laura!
