Welcome and Introduction

We will start off with an introduction of general SharePoint concepts that will help lay the groundwork for this Power User live online course. You will learn about the different types of sites, as well as what makes up a SharePoint environment in Microsoft 365. SharePoint libraries and Microsoft Lists are covered, as well as the differences between the two, and the structure of a SharePoint site.

Module 1: List and Library Creation & Management

This module covers planning and creating document libraries and Microsoft Lists, two of the most important components of a SharePoint site. You will start with the basics of planning libraries and Microsoft Lists (which are SharePoint lists). Learn about using metadata to improve modern list & library navigation. Go through the steps of creating and utilizing different types of columns and view configuration. Column and view formatting is covered as well, plus demonstrations of how to use conditional formatting. Gain an understanding of list and library settings, which is important in the management and ownership of sites. This includes content approval, versioning, view settings and much more, as well as examples of each.

Module 2: Site Ownership & Management

This module teaches you site management in SharePoint Online. First, learn about site creation options and best practices, and then delve into common site manager topics. When managing a site, one of the most common tasks, is setting up permissions. We teach how to get started with sharing your sites, and get into some advanced permission concepts. The course will also cover hub sites, as well as their settings, and modern global navigation architecture.

Module 3: Site Design, Branding & Web Parts

This module covers site design concepts in SharePoint Online. The design and composition of modern pages and news settings are taught in detail. Learn about the options for changing the look of your modern site, when it comes to color schemes and banners, as well as the page and news publishing process. You will learn SharePoint page editing concepts, such as title region layouts, web parts, page sections, section colors, the differences between pages and news pages, news footers, and news digests.

Module 4: SharePoint with Microsoft 365 Apps

In this module, learn how to get around in Microsoft 365, by using office.com, and the app launcher. This includes introductions to the following: OneDrive for Business and how it relates to SharePoint, using Microsoft Teams in conjunction with SharePoint, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Forms, and To-Do.

Module 5: Power Apps with SharePoint

This module gives you a basic introduction to Power Apps and how it integrates with SharePoint. You will learn to create simple, no-code applications, connect to and integrate with many types of data, use a visual interface for layout design and publish an app to SharePoint. You will learn how to create a Power App, forms in Power Apps, getting around in the design surface, and sharing & publishing apps in SharePoint.

Module 6: Power Automate with SharePoint

In this basic Power Automate module, you will dive into the creation of flows with Microsoft Power Automate. Learn about the basic principles of flows, such as triggers, actions and conditions, and how to get around in the interface. You will learn how to get started with out-of-box Flows and templates, as well as how to create them from scratch.
